Built during a time when the threat of invasion loomed large, it served as a sentinel over the wild Atlantic watching for ships that never came. Now just a ruin, it feels like a monument to resilience, solitude, and the relentless passage of time. There’s something haunting about places like this how they outlive the fears that built them, yet still whisper those old anxieties into the wind. I was drawn to the texture of the stone, the way it catches the light, and how it feels simultaneously abandoned and eternal.
