A large bridge over a calm river with a mountainous landscape in the background, and the bridge’s reflection visible in the water.

Reflections on the Susquehanna

Veterans Memorial Bridge, York County, Pennsylvania

A quiet morning along the Susquehanna River—the water perfectly still, the bridge reflected like a pencil sketch against the haze. I’m drawn to scenes like this, where architecture and landscape blend into something softer, quieter, and a little surreal. There’s a kind of grace in the geometry of the arches, their symmetry broken only by small patches of earth, rock, and wild grass. It’s the kind of scene that feels suspended in time—half man-made, half nature reclaiming the frame.
